About Me

I am a student musician living out in Melbourne (Australia) pursuing my dreams of sharing my art and stories with the world. I always grew up having a curiosity in how people could learn to play so beautifully and craft such powerful and moving pieces, and that same interest sparked my life-long quest in learning all there is to music as a whole; from exploring music theory and how its applied in practice, to learning about the greatest debates in ethics and morals in the musicological aspects of contemporary music.

Beyond music, I take a great interest in crafting. I dabble from time-to-time in creating things. My latest crafty intrepid was learning how to punch needle a rug! which was exciting.

What instruments do you play?

The first instrument I ever learned to play was the clarinet, albeit briefly. From there, I went on to also learn the violin, double bass, electric bass, trumpet and french horn, while dabbling in guitar.

Though as part of my university studies for my Bachelor of Music, I tend to use more vocals and electric bass for ensembles.

What aspirations do you have for yourself?

To define oneself is to limit oneself: I wish to keep striving for many things, even that which might stem beyond just confining myself to making music in my bedroom. However, it is my hope that I will always keep making art in one form or another: through music, animation, movie scoring, zines, videos, etc. The goal will always be to keep doing things that I love and make me feel fulfilled in scratching that creative itch. I want to collaborate on many things and help other creatives in the community however possible, and be fully immersed in it: forever a student of the arts.

Who are your inspirations?

Growing up, I listened to contemporary folk, indie pop, and classical music. As I’ve gotten older I have held a place in my heart for certain creators and musicians who I absolutely adore. Among them are Dodie, Orla Gartland, Hozier, Noah Kahan, Mitski, Searows, and Lomelda.

What else would you like others to know about you?

Beyond my own work as a musician, I actively contribute to Melbourne’s music community through my role as a Volunteer Gig Researcher for Live Music Locator. In this position, I help connect local musicians with audiences by researching, curating, and promoting live music events across the city and state. I communicate with a diverse range of venues, from intimate bars to large halls, to ensure that every performance has visibility and that the artists behind them are supported. My work is driven by a belief that live music should be accessible and celebrated. By helping to create one of the most comprehensive gig guides in Australia, I aim to amplify the reach of local musicians, strengthen our music ecosystem, and contribute to the vibrancy of Melbourne’s cultural scene.

Collecting this data is also crucial, as it provides a clear picture of the health and vibrancy of Melbourne’s live music scene. By sharing this information, we help inform the Victorian government and other stakeholders, supporting decisions that strengthen our cultural ecosystem and ensure live music continues to thrive.
